Visiting the 2nd Kamias Triennial in Manila

“Founded by Patrick Cruz in 2014, Kamias Triennial is a non-profit tri-annual art event in Kamias, Quezon City, Philippines. Kamias Triennial aims to propel contemporary and experimental ideas within the community of Quezon City. The first iteration gathered local Filipino artists to create works that responded under the thematic of ephemerality, impermanence, and temporality as a means of inquiry in understanding the prevalent model of artistic production and consumption in the Philippines today. The event offered artists a space to show and engage work without commercial strain allowing experimental and non-commercial content to surface. Taking what has been learned at the first Triennial, the second event will introduce the strategies, processes, and styles of artists in the region of Manila to counterparts from Canada.”

Mittelheuser Scholar-in-Residence (MSiR) at SLQ

I’m both excited and humbled to announce that I have been awarded the Mittelheuser Scholar-in-Residence (MSiR) a Queensland Memory fellowship at the State Library of Queensland, Brisbane. This is truely one of the most engaging cultural spaces in Australia, so I can’t wait to get to work. My research will be engaging with the intersection of Contemporary Curatorial Practice in relation to Digital Futures and Library Practices.
